What is microneedling?

Microneedling (collagen induction therapy) is a cosmetic procedure that involves using small, sterilized needles to prick your skin. This treatment causes mini injuries to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin.

Collagen and elastin help with the firmness and smoothness of your skin. As you age, your body loses its ability to produce collagen and elastin. As a result, your skin loses its tightness, becomes rougher, and develops lines and wrinkles. Microneedling can help reverse this. By stimulating collagen and elastin production, your body will create new tissue that will smooth, tone, and firm your skin.

While microneedling treatments are mostly facial, we can apply this treatment anywhere on your body. In fact, we have clients that request microneedling treatment on their stomach or thighs.

What issues can microneedling address?

According to a study published in 2013, it is thought that microneedling can stimulate stem cells that could potentially help your hair grow. Moreover, microneedling may help your hair improve the absorption of certain hair loss treatments, such as Rogaine® (minoxidil, which was the subject of the study), topical steroids, or platelet-rich plasma.
